Sanity check because I don't trust my doctors an inch:
My psychiatric meds currently are the following:
- #Lisdexamfetamine (Elvanse/Vyvanse): 30-40mg / day
- #Promethazine if needed, to calm down anxiety/to fall asleep if I'm nervous.
- Vitamin D supplements and HRT which should be irrelevant here.
I have now additionally been prescribed #Sertraline (50mg/day) to combat my depression.
I am experiencing high levels of anxiety, nausea and general distress as a response to the sertraline. It is hardly possible for me to live life right now.
Is this dosage sane?
Is it advisable to power through the side effects somehow or is this a warning sign? Any interactions here with my other meds that anyone might have missed?

Any other Sertraline users experiencing dizziness and increased anxiety during these heatwaves? I’ve struggled to grasp what was causing my recent bad episodes and it appears symptoms increase during heat exposure.

#Sertraline gives me emotional regulation issues but it also does a pretty sweet job of holding the #depression at bay. I know which poison I prefer.
Makes me wonder whether I truly am cyclothymic or if the agitated ups are just sertraline side effects.

Since halving my #sertraline dose, down to 50mg / day, my brain feels like it’s halved in processing power. Words are more difficult to find, my speech is slower, my thought patterns and creativity are stifled. I’m generally more lethargic. On the plus side I’m less agitated and less prone to angry outbursts. If only I could have all of the good bits and none of the bad. That’s not really how life works though, is it.

1/ I’m guessing I dropped down from 100mg of #sertraline to 75 around 2 months ago. I lowered the dose because I was getting irritable and aggressive as we emerged from the dark winter months. I dropped it further still to 50mg around 2 weeks ago. My irritability and #anger has subsided, to be replaced by mild #anxiety, lethargy and #depression. I think this might be a reasonable balance between the two states, although I’d rather feel a little more perky.

Je crois que j'ai accidentellement pris double dose de #quviviq et #sertraline.
Bah ma mère, ma soeur et moi, dans notre maison aujourd'hui détruite,notre ADN contaminé par des micro-organismes d'une autre galaxie, devenions des sortes d'araignées-Venoms à la fois invisibles, protéiformes et multicolores.
Je décimais - en spectateur passif - un escadron de flics venus nous arrêter.
Finalement nous nous enfuyions en nous envolant , sous formes de cocons reliés par des fils d'araignée, poussés par des courants d'air, avant d'aller rejoindre des filaments interstellaires pour partir vers le lieu d'origine des micro-organismes nous ayant contaminé.e.s.
C'est pas mal, la chimie moléculaire, finalement !
