So it seems like my months and months of planning are falling apart. Before you think "Oh no, this is terrible", fret not. Because it isn't as dramatic or important as all that.
Basically, I anticipated that the wearable area of my septum hole would remain a meager 5mm, but after much stretching, it appears to be much larger. I keep getting 10mm, which means if I put a tunnel in there at 10mm, I could do as I originally planned, which is to put an 8mm ID ring through the tunnel. I'd have to go wider and it would not look good so...I dunno what I ought to do. -

I made a stainless steel tunnel at work, complete with grooves to hold a rubber ring at both ends! It is 9.5mm wide, so it should replace he lost glass plug.
I will in all likelihood end up hurting myself, but we shall see!! -

My problem is I can't leave well enough alone. For example, earlier this week I tooted "9mm" which OF COURSE everyone knew was me sizing up my septum to a laughable 9mm. But as usual I touch and fidget and can't leave it alone, which irritated it, and I'm back down to 8.5mm while it heals up so I can put 9 back in. I never learn.

Apparently after 8mm, that's the point of no return for stretching holes. In other words, my septum hole, now at 8.5mm (going to 10mm!!!), will likely never fully close. And that's okay!

So I just (Sunday) upgraded my septum from 7mm to 7.5mm and there is no discomfort or pain. Which is nice, but it's hard avoiding going to 8mm so soon. maybe I should.......

Changed my septum jewelry again bc the cute dangly one was verdigris-ing in situ and that 100% explains why my nose kept feeling gently irritated - copper jewelry is actually something I gently avoid (as much as a great deal of it is gorgeous), because it turns Me funny colors. Actually amazed I don't think my nose is funny colors rn...
Examined it after taking it off to see where the plating had somehow worn off and sure enough, thin plating over copper. Sigh. Idk what else I expected for as little as I paid for it. 😅😂 but still.
Put a new ring in, and in a proud moment, managed to shut it myself!! Yay!
(Actually, didn't need spouse's help either for opening old one or closing new one! Very proud of myself for that.)
