Today was the real start of my semester at UOW. I had a meeting with disability support to get everything in place, since I officially began yesterday. My first tutorial is at 3:30 this afternoon, followed by a lecture straight after. It feels good to be settling in and starting to find my rhythm.
I also contacted HumanWare about my Brailliant Braille display, which has been giving me some issues. Thankfully, it’s still under warranty, so I’ll be sending it off for repairs tomorrow. Fingers crossed it comes back in good shape!
Tonight’s dinner is chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes and veggies, prepared by my husband, who is an absolutely brilliant cook. I feel very lucky.

Messing with my #Shashibo, cubes, and realizing something: the feel of magnets coming together and pulling apart is a stim for me. Might have to see if I can find some more magnetic type #fidgets in the new year. #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD #SensoryJoy @actuallyautistic

@actuallyautistic Thought I'd share this cool Advent calendar my partner got me for our traditional calendar exchange. So far, the two fidgets I've gotten out of it have been awesome. I'll include pics of days 1 and 2. #AuDHD #ADHD #ActuallyAutistic #fidget #sensoryjoy

I went for a walk this afternoon and was admiring these beautiful roses. Really uplifting.

The very best thing about the holiday season when being a #neurodiverse person is being able to indulge in the #SensoryJoy of #sparklystuff with all the #shiny and #tinsel and #glitter without anyone calling you weird. In fact, they'll compliment you on how much effort you've gone to.
There is no such thing as "too much" tinsel and "too many" baubles.
Happy shiny Holidays, my neurokin.

@peanutcheese I'm just starting to realise how much kinder certain fabrics feel, and finally letting myself choose clothes that give me #SensoryJoy!
And yes, I also have 'indoor' and 'outdoor' clothes, as well as clothes that just match the different vibes (mood, special interests, different parts of my identity) I feel like on the day.
