Unpopular but factual take:
Sensitivity readers should always be used when you're writing about a group you don't belong to. If nothing else to weed out:
Unconscious bias
Stereotypes
Offensive slurs
Tropes
Factual inaccuracies
Racism/Sexism/homophobia/transphobia etc.You're not being censored or cancelled, you're not being told you can only write characters who look like you. It's about creating richer, nuanced characters.
