My hand pain... disappeared?! 🥳
I don't know who needs to hear this, but apparently your hand is supposed to be floating when using a computer mouse, also a vertical one. Don't put your hand on the desk. Move your whole arm, not just the wrist. I learned this a month ago, at age 31, and this one simple adjustment made my hand pain go away.

Part of my job is to step back and slow down. It's a skill that I learned during my frustrating years as a researcher, when we are pioneering something and there is no easily accessible answers to our questions. Now in industry, I find a few of my coworkers struggling with a problem for days sometimes. If this is you, reach out to our coworkers. One of our fresh Java developers wrote a LOT of unnecessary rows to the database because he assumed that Java's List-operations just work out of the box. Most of the time`equals()`doesn't really matter, but sometimes it does.
So I presented the problem and the root cause to the entire team ... and I pointed out the code changes where it was me who forgot to implement `equals()`and wrote a LOT of unnecessary rows to the database. Twice. This year.

What's it like to be a #SeniorDeveloper ? I spent three hours fixing a failing test because the internal reference point we use for positioning a camera gantry differs by 13mm from the point measured in our internal model of the device. We are aware of the discrepancy and accommodate for it.
It took 3 hours because:
1. I had to create an overload on the output operator so I could see the test failure error in millimeters, rather than a binary dump of the position object.
2. I was trying to modify the wrong function to make the test pass.
3. The correct function was implemented correctly, the test was expecting the wrong values.
