Are We Really #Selfless?
Oh, we are so selfless towards our #kids come on, and then we expect compliance and returns and obedience, basically ROI.
It becomes very difficult to explain to the other that, no, you cannot act selflessly, not because of you, but because you are #homosapiens
Our species is not designed to act selflessly. Therefore, trying to practice #Nishkam #Karma (selfless action) without knowing what the “Self” is, is actually self-deception, not selflessness.

I just learned about Charles Feeney, the retail entrepreneur who gave away about $8 billion, pretty much all his wealth. Apparently, he lived in a rental apartment and didn't even own a car, because he transferred all his assets to his foundation. What a model for all, especially other billionaires. 🙇♂️

It's interesting when we talk about Entities in spiritual classes and circles.
I then will pivot and bring in the concept of the portion of the brain, in psychology, that we call the "Id".
Then I will pivot to a conversation on what we consider our sense of identity and what identities themselves are.
Then. I might ask them to spell the word Identity
Then, for those still paying attention, I pivot back to the reality that they themselves are creating their own entity of themselves.
You are not yourself. You have a self you project.
Are you subjugating your being to yourself and your projections of self?
Are you in control of yourself? Or is your self in control of you? Or are you out of control and unconscious of your being?
There is an art, if you will, to what being selfless truly means.
