@actuallyautistic @youronlyone Both myself and my son get the reaction of “you don’t look #autistic” and then they complain about “#behavior problems”. Doesn’t matter if it’s #selfdx or #dx. I do my best to point out “you know this thing I/he does? Yeah, that’s autism.” I offer pointers to resources. The problem is that the #ignorant often are because they *choose* to be. You can only lead a horse to water so many times… #actuallyautistic

@MistyMelanie I must have missed a council meeting. My understanding is that #actuallyautistic began because “outsiders” were using #autism and #autistic and this new #hashtag was a way for us to self-identify. I wasn’t aware that there was any division about official #dx and #selfdx. #selfdxisvalid

Am I unknowingly excluding folks by not using #AllAutistics? And what about @actuallyautistic group/booster?
