Am Pfingstmontag, 25.5.2026, fanden in unserer St. Concordia-Kirche zu Ruhla zwei Verabschiedungen im Gottesdienst statt.
In einer feierlichen Zeremonie wurde zunächst die Kantorkatechetin verabschiedet. Sie hat 20 Jahre lang mit Kindern und Familien gearbeitet und war zudem für die Kirchenmusik verantwortlich. Doch nachdem sie vor 25 Jahren in den Ruhestand getreten war, hat sie noch ein Vierteljahrhundert die Orgel bei Gottesdiensten, Hochzeiten, Trauerfeiern etc. gespielt. Dafür wurde ihr vom Superintendent des Kirchenkreises herzlich gedankt und ihr Engagement gewürdigt.

Die zweite Verabschiedung galt Pfarrer Reuther, der nach 22 Jahren Dienst in Ruhla Ende Juni 2026 in den Ruhestand geht.
Auch wenn sein Dienst in Ruhla endet, bedeutet das nicht das Ende des Bildungsprojekts in Ruanda! Der Ökumenische Eine-Welt-Kreis bleibt weiterhin bestehen und wird das Projekt in der gewohnten Weise fortführen. Mehr noch, Pfarrer Reuther bleibt Mitglied des Eine-Welt-kreises und wird die Leitung des Projekts behalten.

One of these was our education project in Rwanda, and we are grateful for all the donations totalling around 800 euros that were made to our Rwanda project.

Ocean temperatures have been so 'off the charts' in 2023 and 2024 that scientists fear those waters have reached their capacity to mop up after us humans and are now starting to release that energy. On our current trajectory, by 2100, our planet will reach a temperature not seen for 3 MILLION years!. So...what's the plan???

Mullein: Verbascum- leaves and flowers for teas, coughs, bronchitis and sore chest
Red Clover: Trifolium pratense- teas for coughs and colds, skin wash for psoriasis, flowers in salad
Periwinkle: Vinca minor- astringent for bleeding, mouth wash for ulcers, sore throat, bleeding gums (unsafe to take internally- use with caution)
Elderberry: Sambucus Caerulea (blue variety)-
flowers for teas, berries for wine, mead, syrups and cough drops. Enhances immunity.

I just recently set up a veggie patch in our garden, these two were my official first 'harvest'! 👨‍🌾 Has anyone else tried growing snacksicums? It's a humble beginning, but I find it fascinating how simple acts like gardening and caring for crops change the way I think and feel about the plants that nourish us. I might not be able to grow proper meals out of my tiny veggie patch, but hoping to gradually increase the amount; and share stories and photos along the way!
