It was the main ancient sanctuary at Ai Khanoum (Takhar Province, Afghanistan), built in a mixture of Greek and Mesopotamian styles under the #Seleucids and rebuilt under the #Diodotids in the 240s BCE, again in the early 2rd century BCE and in the reign of Eukratides (ca. 170-140 BCE).
