Clear gypsum crystals, usually referred to as selenite, resting on crystalline halite matrix. Under shortwave UV light the halite fluoresces bright orange, while the gypsum fluoresces ethereal blue.

Total win from the street fair on Avenue of the Americas last weekend. #Selenite #crystals grow so straight that when polished they exhibit strong #chatoyancy. It would have been easy to drop a couple hundred at this place, they had so many cool #carvings & #jewelry, so choosing just this was a #happy #chore.

After visiting my yew tree earlier and making the #altar there (which I posted about a few hours ago), tonight is a simple crystal grid featuring nothing but selenite that I collected myself from Wiltshire clay. I’ll fall asleep watching that flame. Ending my #WinterSolstice beautifully.
