Ruhig eingebettet in den Bergen der Stadt Seki in der Präfektur Gifu liegt der als „Monet’s Pond“ bekannte Teich, auch „der namenlose Teich“ genannt. Dieser kleine Wassergarten wird von klarem Quellwasser gespeist. Sonnenlicht dringt durch die außergewöhnlich transparente Wasseroberfläche, erhellt die schwimmenden Seerosen und erschafft eine Szenerie, die an ein impressionistisches Gemälde erinnert. Farbenprächtige Koi gleiten anmutig unter den Blättern dahin und offenbaren eine ruhige, faszinierende Schönheit, die sich sanft mit den Jahreszeiten wandelt.
