I finally did it! It took just over 6 months, but I completed the Google Cybersecurity Certification. And just in time for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. It was a lot of work, and some of it was tough (I’m looking at you, Python). The material was wide from cybersecurity concepts and frameworks to SQL and Python. It’s a good starting point for those who are interested in field and want to get some good hands-on practice. It was also used as a study tool to prepare for the CompTIA Security+, which will be next on the to-do list.

So it begins. I finally got a book for the updated CompTIA Security+ certification exam. l'll be working on this over the next few months with no
"accelerated courses" this time around. Topics to learn include cryptography as well as a refresher on a few things like general non-technical concepts. This will likely be my last certification that I'll earn for a while. Maybe the CySA+ (cybersecurity analyst) cert in a few years??

I’ve used Anki before for spaced repetition practice of languages, but last night thought, I wonder if anyone has done flashcards for security topics? And they have! A cursory search has revealed a #SecurityPlus and #OWASP AVS decks. I haven’t had a chance to review the contents (and check dates against source updates), but still, cool that some folks are creating these.
