Hi friends,

I homeschool and a few of the parents in groups have asked about #employment opportunities for those who have been fucked over by #elonmusk. One in particular is in #marketing and #technicalwriting. They haven’t been let go yet but they are preparing for the worst. Many parents have #remotework so they can homeschool their kids while they work. Can anyone give me any advice I can give them in these uncertain times about where they can find opportunities to work and continue #homeschooling?

I just showed this image to my 12-year-old homeschooler, and he looked at me and chuckled, and then said sweetly,
"But aren't those where the North and South Poles are?"
I replied, "And there are no trees or cars there."
"Yes."

At least he had the decency to chuckle.

All of my pets absolutely love to attend Zoom meetings, and they were all very upset when I attempted to use the bed as a tabletop for yesterday's course planning meeting.

(We used a Jamboard online but had used the Post-It Note version in-person for some crowdsourced preliminary planning during co-op. The paper Post-It Notes have a lot more information than the Jamboard stickies, so I was in charge of cross referencing them.)

I still volunteer my time with my state's #SecularHomeschool advocacy organization. I also do compliance reviews for VA families. My biggest challenge was being outstripped by my kids' academic needs with advanced science and trying to find affordable, quality resources that would meet their needs.

Ok, here's what we've decided for #secularhomeschool the end of year holidays, and ski days. This is week #18 and the MIDDLE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!! HUZZAH!!
We ski Wed-#Karynmas on Fri. I think we'll take next week off. We need a break, its been since hunting season in Sept since we last had any extra days off.
