I've just finished writing the first draft of a Japanese novel. It's by far the longest thing I've ever written in the language. Now comes the hard part: revising it until it's ready for the eyes of an editor. Still, it feels good to have taken the story this far.

I read the first third of my latest short story, Photo Bomber (「フォトボマー」), which appears in the anthology Fear and SF (恐怖とSF), published last month by Hayakawa. The event, held at @sumika_tankyu in Kamakura this past Wednesday afternoon, was a spontaneous addition to the Kamakura Poetry Festival. I opened for poet Robert Priest and singer-songwriter Kai Shimizu.

Handschuh -> hand shoe -> Glove
