It's fun to imagine the United States without #Texas. We could allow them to #secede (after extracting all the federal assets from the state), and then laugh at the fact that they took their 40 electoral votes and their Congressional delegations with them.
But them reality intrudes, and I think about all the people who would lose their rights and their lives in an independent Texas, who are unable to escape it.
