  1. Although I have subscribed to the AP feed since early last year, I don’t pay for it. I do subscribe to the Seattle Times with its high rates, because it uses the excellent journalist service; so I feel justified.

  2. Although I started subscribing to the AP feed early last year, I’m not paying for it. I do subscribe to the Seattle Times which uses the AP News network to access good coverage of contemporary events and since I pay a great deal to the Times, feel justified.

  3. @newsguyusa @AnnaAnthro The #price of a #subscription should be going down since #Bozo fired so many #journalists.

It’s a lesser product than it was before.

Bozo #Bezos wants to charge more for less? WTF?

Hard pass. I’m going with the #SeattleTimes instead.

  4. My daughter has discovered that her school gives her a free subscription to #seattletimes and now she spends quite a bit of time every day reading the obits. Something tells me that's not what they intended when they decided to subscribe.

  5. Wow, Frank Blethen officially stepped down today.

(Ryan Blethen, his son, is taking over.)

Say what you will about the Blethens and the Times, and there's plenty to say, but it's still one of the last independent daily newspapers and I'd much rather keep it that way than have it absorbed into some propaganda consortium.

  6. [US Sen. Patty] Murray: ICE dog attack on WA man ‘should shock the conscience’

    Dec. 6, 2025

#US Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., is calling for the immediate release of a Clark County man whose attorneys say was mauled by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement dog despite not resisting arrest.

Undercover immigration officials detained Wilmer Toledo-Martinez, of Vancouver, Wash., outside his home on Nov. 14. An #ICE agent pretended to be a construction worker, claiming he had hit Toledo-Martinez’s vehicle and needed to exchange insurance, luring the family out of their home, according to the senator.

Another agent was waiting for Toledo-Martinez outside, releasing a dog that then mauled him, according to his attorney. As of Saturday, Toledo-Martinez, was being held at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma.

  7. I completely forgot that the Seattle Times editorialized no on vouchers. They also oppose harm reduction for substance use in favor of coerced treatment which all research shows to be ineffective, and support Ann Davison for City Attorney. Reactionary to the core!

  9. Just for the record, in the context of press coverage or the lack thereof, The Seattle Times ran the protests as front page lead story.

    As they should've.

    (Spotted elsewhere, they won't mind)

  10. @Lundemo

It’s a choice the #SeattleTimes made to report it that way. If they had a reporter on site, they could have seen how ridiculous that claim was.

So, yeah, it was lazy reporting mixed with some deliberate not looking.

  11. #SeattleTimes reports only 7K people at #HandsOff in the Seattle Center.

But you know, 400K at Pride, and 200K at Folk Life at the Seattle Center

Uh... Just the lawn area has a size of 75,000 square feet. 7,000 people would have 10 square feet each.
