  1. #Seattle! Tomorrow morning, @jp4all @houserneighbors and @ShareTheCities are hosting a #SeattleCompPlan commenting party 10:30am - 12pm.

Do you want to tell the city why we need to build more housing -- and do it near parks and amenities, not just in a narrow strip on polluted arterials?
    Come join us!

  2. Alright #Seattle #SeattleCompPlan people. Since no city planner dares to show this, we're doing it.

We're not just looking at how many "Neighborhood Centers" have been added or taken away. We're gonna overlay it on top of the displacement risk.

  3. Who has the time to talk to lawyers to see if we can sue the city for doing a terrible job on the comp plan? #SeattleCompPlan ?

  4. Which mainstream fully funded organization is going to step up and take a lead on grassroots advocacy for the comp plan? And when? We need paid organizers and organizations to do more to reach out with bold messages. #SeattleCompPlan

  5. Whenever it rains, every “urban village” bus shelter starts approaching a good % of NIOSH noise pollution limits. This is next to a city “park” on a weekend.

These are the car hell areas that the only “new housing” is allowed to be built #Seattle #SeattleCompPlan

  6. We encourage you to get real noisy on social media and in person over the next 60 days! #SeattleCompPlan #Seattle

Follow @ HouseOurNeighbors on Instagram and sign up for their newsletters for an upcoming workshop!!!

  7. Taxing housing to build housing incentivizes sprawl to surrounding areas.

Tax the rich instead and build social housing.

  8. Seriously not sure what the heck Magnolia Community Council thinks the solution to Diversity, Lower Cost Housing, New Neighbors and Urban Forests is except to build missing middle instead of lot line to lot line McMansions. #Seattle #SeattleCompPlan #MissingMiddle

  9. My favorite part of civic engagement events, like the #SeattleCompPlan review in Loyal Heights, is learning a new derogatory nickname for the type of modern skinny townhouse I live in. Tonight, it’s “Ballard Boxes.” (I embrace all the nicknames, telling my neighbors I’ve heard worse.)

  10. We've updated our land use webpage with resources to start learning about Seattle's Comprehensive Plan, links to
Affordable Talaris' scoping comments report and more!
