Cedars of Lebanon leaving?

What makes the University District so unique is its abundance of legacy small businesses which attract folks to our main street. One of which is Cedars of Lebanon, the oldest restaurant on The Ave, who after five decades may be displaced to make room for a McDonalds.

For some of us, the introduction of a corporate chain restaurant, replacing three independent, small businesses with a block-wide façade, directly across the street from the entrance to our main light rail station, is very troubling.

And just in case you thought the #Seattle city council only hated sex workers and drug users, you'd be wrong. They also hate children who have been traumatized by gun violence. Like the story above, this involves the council gaslighting the very people they are hurting WHILE THEY'RE IN THE ROOM.

It is truly frustrating to look back on Seattle's previous city council and think: Well, at least they did SOME good.

This one (except Morales) is unequivocally evil. They repeatedly propose ideas to "help" people by putting them in jail. With this latest stupidity, they're going to criminalize people trying to live their lives based solely on an accusation. Then, they lie about it in a way that even Trump would admire. Want to go tell them what you think? Nope. They'll literally lock the doors and run away to their offices to meet virtually instead of letting people tell them what awful human beings they are.

I'm hopeful that we'll get another sane, somewhat progressive councilmember from the election, but that will still be 7-2.
