I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took a sandwich to the chest.

And let's take a moment to appreciate that, as has happened so much in this administration, the officer in question lied under oath. It was laughable.
""I could feel it through my ballistic vest," he said of the sandwich's impact, adding that an onion string hung from his police radio and mustard stained his shirt."
"Ms. Shroff described the case to jurors as profoundly unserious.
She showed a photo of the sandwich intact on the ground and in a wrapper after Mr. Dunn threw it, challenging the agent who had testified on Tuesday that the hoagie had “exploded” on his chest."

Anyway, on for the fun stuff: the Sisters In Law podcast is a good podcast with legal expert hosts covering politics and law. They shared a number of puns found around the Internet related to this case:

    Assault with a deli weapon
    Reuben missile crisis
    The Hurl of Sandwich
The po boy was set free
    It was a ham-handed prosecution
If the wrap didn't split, you must acquit
The sandwich wasn't the only hero
The case was full of baloney
    The case went a-rye
    One man mustard his courage
Justice was served... with chips, a cookie, and a medium drink
The office was taken to the mayo clinic
    We relish the outcome
He was in a pickle, but now he's on a roll
It was a salami sandwich, good thing it wasn't a club
A waste of dough all along

  3. CW: Sean Dunn acquitted of assault with a deli weapon

Sean Dunn, the "sandwich guy" was acquitted on charges of... assault with a deli weapon. (Just kidding, but more puns in a moment). It was misdemeanor assault. The Trump administration originally wanted FELONY charges... for a sandwich being thrown at a member of ICE. Who was wearing body armor.

Bear in mind this is the same administration that pardoned the violent insurrectionists of Jan 6, despite those thugs having injured about 140 police officers. And now they've been wasting taxpayer dollars and limited judicial resources on a ridiculous case. All to try to intimidate people from speaking out against ICE. But those who have been paying attention have been outraged by the brutal actions of ICE: kidnapping hard working immigrants, zip-tying children, tear gassing neighborhoods, illegally imprisoning US citizens, shooting reporters ad priests with rubber bullets and pepper balls. It's horrifying. No wonder so many people sympathized with Sean Dunn's frustrations.

  4. The internet informs me that the Subway store where Sean Dunn's mustard and onions stayed inside their wrapper is having a busy night.

  5. #WashingtonDC ‘Sandwich Guy’, #SeanDunn ‘beats the wrap’ and is found Not Guilty of assaulting a wimpy #BorderPatrol agent with a Subway sandwich that smelled of onions and mustard! huffpost.com/entry/dc-sandwich

#JuryNullification will drive Jeanine Pirro to drink 🍷, with BOTH hands! 😂

  6. I wish I could be on the jury for the misdemeanor trial of #SeanDunn , better known for his ‘#Subway resistance’ in #WashingtonDC. His #resistance to tyranny has even been immortalized, #Banksy style. huffpost.com/entry/sandwich-ma

Whoever IS on the jury needs to know about #JuryNullification.

  7. You may have missed this, but Sean Dunn who worked at the US DOJ, threw a squishy Subway sandwich at a cop wearing body armor. AG Pam Bondi fired him, and sent a jackboot gang of 20 armed agents to arrest him for felony assault. With a sandwich. Is that where the US is now? Is it called “Sandwiching” in the criminal codes? #Resist #Subway #SeanDunn #PamBondi #Sandwiching #ACAB
