Why we can't have nice bike trails?
Thanks to a coalition of Labor, Big Gravel, Railroads, and the Marine Business Coalition, a judge ruled last week that the Burke Gilman missing link couldn’t skip a long, expensive environmental review. We’ll be biking on poorly-marked sidewalks for the foreseeable future.
Advocates should have anticipated the need to comply with SEPA
Remember, this is just a delay, not cancellation of the Missing Link.

Fresh off my ultimate pre-STP workout where I took it easy to keep my body ready, I’m looking back at the 1st time I rode the Seattle To Portland ride back in 2024. It was my 1st ever multi day ride, & I hope I can do it again this weekend.

A5b: As a result, I can decide which bike to ride almost immediately. I take the e-bike whenever I need to haul my daughter, my road bike for a fitness or recreational ride, or otherwise, my do-it-all bike.

The OP and most comments assumed cycling was a form of recreation/sport/commute., and the answers reflected that assumption. My answer would have been, and is here, that it would be an e-cargo bike with a rear child seat so I can use it for transporting my daughter as well as grocery shopping and other errands.

I went on a bike ride after work to check out the new park space along the Seattle Waterfront including Myrtle Edwards Park & Centennial Park, and it was wonderful to see so many people out and about enjoying the great weather and World Cup vibes. I was a little upset that they butchered the rose garden, but I’m hopeful it will recover next year.

I received a response from King County Parks to my request for more information and to find a suitable detour regarding the upcoming East Lake Sammamish Trail closure from May thru late fall. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good.
For context, this trail closure means that the only way one could bike between Issaquah and Redmond is around the west side of Lake Sammamish or climbing into the city of Sammamish for most of the year
