I think it is so cool that in the last few year the #RP2040 has enabled this mini golden age of custom input devices for specific games that can work multiple consoles, mobile devices and PC.

I picked up a little pad for rhythm games (#DJMax & #SDVX) and a "hit box" for fighting games. all use mechanical keyboard switches that are swap able and all can be upgraded or repaired as needed.

Both where cheap and are exactly what I wanted out of each device.

And of course because everyone outside of Japan is an afterthough they have not fixed or even acknowledged this issue at all.

So for the few wondering, no its not you. VARIANT GATE did disappear for no apparent reason.

I was able to try out VARIANT GATE and MAXXIVE RATE today.

MAXXIVE RATE is basically an extension of EXCESSIVE RATE, but it requires S CRITICAL to be turned on. It feels about the same as playing HEXA DIVER set on 5 (aka a few misses and you're bye bye, but it gives you a bit of a buffer to recover).

VARIANT GUAGE fills up similar to BLASTER. Fills by playing with MAXXIVE RATE on. The guage doesn't fill in PREMIUM or LIGHT START.

The VARIANT GATE only shows up on your "EX TRACK". WARNING ITS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT as the guage is similar to playing MAXXIVE RATE.

... anyway I have calmed down now. This is an official chart btw... I'm probably still not good enough to clear most lvl 18s but this is amazing.

Also this song gave me PTSD when I was still a kid playing Osu which makes it feel even nicer when I cleared it
