John Edwin Whitteker, Lutheran pastor in NY and PA, talks of impact of Protestant Reformation: it taught the world that all labor is honorable. Toiling at a trade serves God as well as preaching the gospel. Everyone became a co-worker with God in carrying out the plan of building up the human race.
