  3. I spent this afternoon styling the Hometown Project at the end of the Web dev basics module of Scrimba's Frontend Developer Path. Here I talk about completing the exercise, hating flex, and moving on to Javascript. #scrimba #webdevelopment

  4. I completed "Build a birthday GIFt site" from the course: Scrimba - Front End Developer Career PathMaking my way slowly back through the Scrimba Frontend Bootcamp, but struggle for motivation to keep going back over basic html/css. #scrimba

  5. I got a nice little shoutout in the #Scrimba weekly newsletter.

    Basically: I just suggested that people learn Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and SharePoint. They’re pretty easy to learn if you have programming & web dev knowledge. And it seems like these skills are pretty in-demand.

  6. Wow!! 16 hours long React course offered by Scrimba for free on FreeCodeCamp's YouTube channel!!

    "Learn modern React basics in the most interactive, hands-on way possible in the full course for beginners.

    Throughout this tutorial, you'll tackle over 170 interactive coding challenges and build six exciting projects. If you're tired of React courses that leave you staring blankly at an empty editor screen, you're in the right place! 8. #100DaysOfCode The final day of my first round of the challenge! 🎉

    This challenge has been a wonderful journey. I am glad I managed to motivate myself to code every day. Through various courses and projects, I have honed my front-end development skills a lot.

    Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my 100 Days of Code journey, and has interacted with my posts on Twitter, Mastodon, Bluesky and the freeCodeCamp Discord serve, by replying to, liking or reposting.

  9. #100DaysOfCode Day 92:
    Started working on the CSS of my movie watchlist solo project for Module 8 (Working with APIs) of #Scrimba’s Frontend Developer Career Path. The only parts left were the individual containers for movies and their info.

    Through working on the CSS of the movie watchlist, I learned how to add an icon into an input element by using the position property in CSS.

    I also listened to Episode 117 of the #freeCodeCamp Podcast, and signed up for 100Devs after discovering the platform through this episode of the fCC Podcast.

  10. I think there's something wrong with me (ok, there's a lot wrong with me, but something odd(er)): it's 10pm and I'm doing more #React learning with #Scrimba despite being dog tired.

  11. _finally_ finished my latest #scrimba solo project, the restaurant ordering app. It was a heck of a slog, but I've learnt a lot.

    It's not perfect, I know. I just wanted to get it finished.

  12. Good morning #fediverse! Finally finished listening to @linuxuserspace podcast and can highly recommend it! If you like #geeky #podcasts, and you're a #linux user (or wannabe user), then this is one for you. Adding it to my vast list with #HTMLAllTheThings, #scrimba, #codenewbies, #YoureDeadToMe, #InfiniteMonkeyCage, #FrontEndChatter & #HighsideLowside. All available on Apple & Google Podcasts (other podcast providers available).

  13. I rather ambitiously set myself half a module of #scrimba to do today, and I forgot till I got in bed. So, #lateNightCoding learning about #js `for of` loops with Tom Chant.

  14. Good morning #Hachyderms and people of the wider #fefiverse!
    I started my day on a little high, finishing Module 8 learning 40 days ahead of schedule. I only have the solo project to complete.

    I'm not usually one for tooting ones own horn, but as I was starting to feel overwhelmed with it before a breakthrough, I'm going to celebrate this win! :blobfoxsignyip:

  15. It's taken me most of the day (on and off between work), but I've got the main HTML (and some of the "easy" JS) of my new #scrimba project completed. Next I'll do the CSS.

  16. I just won “Code Review of the Week” from #Scrimba!

    I was doing a bunch of code reviews on their Discord server over the holidays. I’m super happy I could be helpful to people.

    As an award, they gave me 6 months free of their “Pro” membership, so I’ll probably be doing some of their courses soon. They have an AI Engineer Carreer Path that looks pretty interesting.

  17. I get to start work locally, so I get a surprise study session before work.

    Continuing #React learning with #Scrimba moving on to reactive sites (pun intended) with the meme generator project. So far, doing the "easy" bits with standard components and #CSS before moving on to the fun bits.

  18. Managed to catch up and finish my latest #Scrimba solo project, the first in #react. Struggling to understand why the images don't match in size, but there's only so long I can fiddle with it. Quite happy it's all finished, and on to the next section.

  19. I just spent half an hour trying to work out why my react code didn't work only to find I'd forgotten a `return` statement in my `.map` statement. My notes weren't clear enough, so they've now been updated, with the slight tongue in cheek prod of "there's half an hour of my life I won't get back!".

  20. This year's end of year update from @AntennaPod (similar to Spotify's end of year thing, but private and generated on your phone): top winners (no surprise) are:
    * @LateNightLinux family of podcasts
    * @linuxuserspace
    * #TraceroutePodcast (mainly because I binged seasons 1&2)

    Surprised the #Scrimba podcast isn't in the top 5, but they have been slowing down since I started using this app (a couple of months). Look forward to seeing what 2024 brings!

  21. #Javascriptmas Day1

    Last year #Scrimba had us post our solutions to their discord. Now they're making us post to the xitter🚽🤢🤮. I'm not doing that.

  22. A podcast episode from the excellent scrimba.com where I did most of my learning over the last year - they already have the outstanding FrontEnd Engineer path, and this week they are adding the AI Engineer path scrimba.com/learn/aiengineer/. In this episode the founder of #scrimba Per talks about how right now is the perfect time to learn ‘developing using #OpenAI’ as a component of a website or app - a great new course from a trusted training provider podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/

  23. Back on the horse this morning, did some #react learning using #Scrimba and I hate to admit it, it took longer than it should have to write the #ReactApp from scratch. Still, I managed in the end with some basic styling.

    These aren't my jokes.

  24. I'm WFH today, so instead of the commute with traffic and podcasts, I get to do some (much needed) studying. I haven't done nearly enough since I got my new job so I need to really knuckle down and get on if I want to learn React by February.

  25. New instance calls for a new #introduction:

    My name is Dominic, I'm fast approaching my 40's, Bi in a hetoro mariage and I'm learning to become a web developer.

    I currently work in IT Support for an ambulance service and I'm teaching myself #webDev using the #Scrimba course for #FrontEnd. My aim is to finish before I hit the big 4 0, so keep me accountable?

    I also like #gaming (#PS5), #reading, #rollerblading, #motorbike and recently became a fan of #OpenSource #FOSS

    Hope to connect soon!

  26. Did some more studying today on my #Scrimba course on #React. I've now finished my HTML, just need to do the CSS.

    #webDev #CodeNewbie

  27. Today, I deployed my very first #React app (at home, of course) using #Vite (which I cant help pronounce like "byte" 🤣, but the French makes more sense) thanks to #BobZiroll and #Scrimba continuing with the #frontEndCareerPath.

    This is really fun!
    :vite: :react:

  28. Tomorrow is the big day: I start learning #React with the #Scrimba #frontEndDeveloper career path.

    Looking forward to it!
    #m2li

  29. This morning, I finished Module 9 of #Scrimba #frontEndDeveloper career path (UI design) and went backwards to complete a new section that was added in module 3. Then I move on to the Biggie: #React!

    At last, I have completed all 24 days of JavaScriptmas 2023 challenge!🥳

    This challenge has been a great opportunity to practice and sharpen my CSS and JavaScript knowledge and skills.

    I have also compiled a scrim playlist for all my JavaScriptmas solutions: scrimba.com/playlist/pdpB3JZfE
