I've got a question for film people: I used to keep track of the Bechdel-Wallace Test and then the DuVernay Test and all their derivatives (for diversity and representation in film) and then the field exploded and I lost track.
What are the Representation Tests for film that you can recommend? (I appreciate links if you have them.)

The new #IndependentProductionAgreement for #Canadian #screenwriters, to come into effect on May 22, 2024, includes script fee increases, min. staffing requirements & artificial intelligence protections. The IPA, negotiated with #CanadianMediaProducers Association, representing local indie film & TV producers, sees live action script fees increase 5%, 4% & 3.5% over the next 3 yrs.

I have to share this with you (paraphrased slightly) from the playwright notes I just read from the script “Doubt, A Parable,” by John Patrick Shanley*:
“It is Doubt (so often experienced initially as weakness) that changes things. When we feel unsteady, when we falter, when hard-won knowledge evaporates before our eyes, we’re on the verge of growth. The subtle or violent reconciliation of the outer person and the inner core often seems at first like a mistake, like you’ve gone the wrong way and you’re lost. But this is just emotion longing for the familiar. Life happens when the tectonic power of your speechless soul breaks through the dead habits of the mind. Doubt is nothing less than an opportunity to reenter the Present.”
