  1. The film I was thinking of is Aneesh Chaganty's debut feature Searching (2018). It achieves that using online video elements, recordings of video chats, and stuff filmed from the perspective of the device's camera. As well as some news footage (presumably watched on-device in a browser or streaming app).

  2. A staggeringly ineffective use of the ScreenLife format to tell a folk horror story that would have been better served without the format. My ★ review of Bloat (2025) on Letterboxd: boxd.it/9hIh4R #Horror #Bloat #ScreenLife #Letterboxd

  5. One exciting new #FoundFootage movie will be out 20th Jan next year (one month from today).

'Missing' (missing.movie/) is a new movie by the team that brought us the excellent 'Searching' (ffdb.cc/movie/?Searching-ffid4) back in 2018. It is NOT (as I understand it) a direct sequel or prequel or tie in to Searching.

It'll be a 'screen life' #FoundFootage movie - i.e. the action mostly takes place on PC screens, mobile phones, webcams etc. If it's even half as good as Searching (which currently has 8.2/10 on FFDB) it'll be great.

  7. SEARCHING (2018) directed by Aneesh Chaganty, produced by Timur Bekmambetov.

Things are not exactly as they are. Do trust your instincts while watching that movie, except ...
it is not worth walking away if you think you don't like the genre.

Because that movie is #ScreenLife (among others)
