Used the stock to make Jambalaya -- I had some kielbasa that needed to be used up and apart from celery all the ingredients on hand.

Strained and clarified the chicken stock I made last night. Rufus decided he needed to be in the pic.

Edit to add: The stock was made with some freezer burnt thighs I excavated. So ,in the spirit of waste-not-want-not, I turned it into that golden stock, along with a few chicken backs, carrot, onion, celery, bell peppers, tomatoes, parsley and coriander. It's now my favourite chicken stock combination.

While at a local independent grocer, they announced chicken legs at half price when I was right next to them! I took it as a sign .

Scratch-made chicken stock is currently blipping way on the hob. tomorrow, it (and the chicken) will be turned into tamales.
