DC All In Special #1 | Comic Review

I’m gearing up to start diving into the all new DC Comcis Absolute Universe. I’ve heard so many great things about the books, especially the Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter books. I know that I needed to check out the book that kick-started the whole thing: DC All In Special # 1.

The superheroes of the DC universe are all happy and comfortable preparing for a united future where everyone is a member of the Justice League. Suddenly…

UH OH! DARKSEID IS BACK!

He looks like he’s been through hell, and he wreaks havoc on everyone. If I’m not mistaken, a bunch of people died as well? Darkseid is searching for the the creation of the surge and his origins.

The story is sensationally told non-linear. Getting the story of what happens in the present-day and then the buildup of how Darkseid got there was tremendous. That was a great idea.

The artwork in this book is phenomenal. The pencils and the colors just enhance each other perfectly to tell a wonderful story.

It would appear that Booster Gold, one of my favorites thanks to Batman: The Brave and the Bold, is going to be an anchor point between the “normal” universe and the Absolute Universe. I’m excited to see where that’s going to head as everything progresses.
