  2. Bizarre statement by #AnasSarwar! 🙄

It's about his decision to eff to London, to a seat in the unelected #HouseOfLords. He will also be a minister for trade, but as a Minster Of State, he will have no power. The prize here is the Lords seat for life

At the end, he refers to his successor, in a context that can only refer to the party leadership. But he never actually says that he is resigning as leader of #ScottishLabour. Is he still leader?

  3. A tough 5 years for Scotland's silliest clown show. Traditionally, every other year the leader of #ScottishLabour would be humiliatingly defenestrated, and replaced with someone even less competent.

#AnasSarwar cheated by staying for 5 years, almost a million times the average tenure. The comedy cane from losing elections with increasing severity.

Now he restores the humiliation by crawling to the #HouseOfLords.

    #SLAB Leader #11 due soon. Don't blink, or you'll miss them 😅🤣

  4. On Tuesday, the #ScottishParliament elected #JohnSwinney as #FirstMinisterOfScotland.

That's the 5th successive term with an #SNP First Minister.

And it's 23 years since the last election of a #ScottishLabour First Minister: Jack McConnell in 2003.

Labour dominated Scotland for 50 years. When Holyrood was established, Labour was the natural party of government.

Now electing a Labour FM is a fading memory, held by people with greying hair. Labour's colour is turning to sepia.

  5. This is Kirsty McNeill's maiden speech as Labour MP for Midlothian where she makes her "solemn commitment" to the children of Midlothian that she will be their "champion".

"We are all of us products of investments made in us as children" - how true Kirsty.

She voted to keep the two-child benefit cap.

I worked in Education in Midlothian for many years and saw first-hand the child poverty that exists there.
