The parabolic arch of the terminal at Renfrew Airport, Scotland. Designed by William Kininmonth and opened in 1954, it stood as a striking gateway to Glasgow before the airport’s closure in 1966.

Scottish Aviation (Handley Page) Jetstream T.1 This aircraft is one I know well ! I used to walk past it, most mornings, on my way to/from my office at RAF Finningley, South Yorkshire. Finningley is now a (temporarily closed) civil airport on the outskirts of Doncaster. The Jetstream used to be on the strength of No 6 FTS, RAF, but is now on display at Newark Air Museum, Nottinghamshire. Scottish Aviation Bulldog, Series 120. Now carrying a civilian registration, this Bulldog still shows its pugnacious lines. Developed from the Beagle Pup, this military trainer was highly successful, being used not just by the UK, but also by Malaysia, Sweden, Kenya and Lebanon amongst others. Here we see a former Botswana Air Force example at Cotswold Airport in the UK.
