Scott McCloud (Soulside) To Release Debut Solo Album

Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys, Soulside, Paramount Styles) is set to release his debut solo album, ‘Make it to Forever,’ on January 30, 2026. The first video and single, ‘Come Round,’ is out now. Conceived as raw recordings on acoustic guitar and voice, the album was recorded in Athens, Greece, a place holding “mythological meaning” for him. The songs, fleshed out with musical guests, maintain a vulnerable atmosphere and explore memories, blurring the reality of experience itself.

“Nancy is Plato's playground… a drawing of three rocks in a background scene was Ernie's way of showing us there were some rocks in the background. It was always three. Why? Because two rocks wouldn't be "some rocks." Two rocks would be a pair of rocks. And four rocks was unacceptable because four rocks would indicate "some rocks" but it would be one rock more than was necessary to convey the idea of "some rocks."

I hadn't heard of #ScottMcCloud [1] until just now, but looking at [2], it does look like he helped convince people to use Chrome: he cannot avoid holding partial responsibility for encouraging people to subject themselves to Orwellian #SurveillanceCapitalism .

Incidentally, over on Twatter, Scott McCloud reminded us all that his groundbreaking book “Understanding Comics” is 30 years old. Fresh as ever, if you ask me! I have been using extracts in the Italian version on the past two weeks with great success.

@uncomics I think it depends on your definitions of "comics"; if you're using #ScottMcCloud's “juxtaposed pictorial and other images in deliberate sequence, intended to convey information and/or to produce an aesthetic response in the viewer” the issue hinges on the sequence, and also on the reason for the division. In a comics space there isn't really a material reason for the division of the #drawing (or #painting) into separate panels other than generating a sequence...

Pretty much done with #artschool now, recently had a small group #exhibition with @freshfishcomix and some more people in #berlin. Presented my final assignment #comic "A shoplifers Guide to paradise" for the first time. I wil continue working on it soon and make a small #zine, 60 pages so far. But for now i'm focussing on two smaller comic-projects with #deadlines ahead and the #24hourcomicday by #ScottMcCloud that is coming up soon.
