Field of dreams, North Uist.

My first time in North Uist was a very short stop of a few hours waiting for ferry connections to align. I wandered off and was completely captivated by this wild flower meadow with the gentle curving land, and for several years, this is how I saw North Uist in my mind. I later went back and spent more time there, and this image continues to resonate with me: the gentle shapes and colour palette. Even in storms it retains this beauty for me.

This was made using a 4x5 camera and Fuji Provia 100F. I love the colour rendition with this film, which suited this subject perfectly. I really like the way the clouds look as if they are part of a distant mountain range.

A stunning day to visit the #Dundreggan Rewilding Centre yesterday afternoon on the road home to #Skye. Autumn colours filling the landscape here looking south towards the River Moriston.

Also... excellent coffee and cake after the walk at the café there. What more do you need 🤷‍♂️🙂
