  1. So we've got fresh #habanero and #ScotchBonnet chillies ready to harvest.

Any hot tips on cooking or preserving them?

  2. #Inktober Day 12: #Spicy (official prompt spells it #Spicey)

I've not tried Scotch Bonnet peppers before but I definitely want to eventually, even if it melts my esophagus lol.

  3. It’s … purple pikliz*! 🇭🇹 🌱

    Process: treacherous 🥽 🧤

    Results: luminous 🌶️ ✨

*the kind of pikliz you make when you only have red cabbage on hand, not white 🙈

Not quite authentic, but still packing plenty of heat 🔥 🔥 🔥

  4. Left the peppers in the fridge a little too long, but finally got around to making pepper sauce tonight. Have the neighbours a heads up that they didn't need to call Hazmat if the smelled something strong coming from my place.

  5. You know you've got it made when you find someone else who likes anchovies on pizza.

In other news, the Taco Trauma Tree has produced its first fruit. And it looks like 🔥. Yellow to red. Mostly #scotchbonnet with maybe some #jalapeno pollen.

  6. #scotchbonnet is loving the outdoors. One of these weeks #TacoTuesday is going to be Very Memorable.

10+ fruit on one, 5-8 on the other.
(Background is a #ghostpepper that is polite enough to have no flowers and a #jalepeno that is covered in flowers and a few fruit)

  7. If you've ever asked yourself the question "will Scotch bonnet peppers grow on Kaua'i?" the answer is "yes." Or possibly "hell yes."

Scotch bonnets are close cousins to habaneros, but they have a fruitier, sweeter flavor, critical for Jamaican jerk recipes.

Dehydrated this batch at 140 degrees for 36 hours, turning and rotating every 12, and they are just glorious. If you're on island and want some, please let me know. #kauai #peppers #scotchbonnet #farming
