I’m a Biker (YZF600RK) and I cringe everytime I see a rider not wearing protective gear. Worst offenders are scooter riders who seem to think they are not riding real bikes so it’s ok to ride in office attire with a helmet on… death wish.

I concur, coming off a bike at speed make short schrift of any exposed skin or skin under anything other than bike riding gear (if it doesn’t maim or kill you first)

My answer is to ride with awareness. within one’s ability and within a bike’s limits (Tyres and breaks esp). THe other part of answer is for every bike rider (whatever bike is ridden) to do One Professional Riding Course every year. This has three benefits. 1) It lets you ride the devil out in relative track safety 2) teaches you life-saving skill and gets you familiar with your regular mount, and 3) when you finish and joion traffic once again it highlights how dangerous it is to ride with tin tops and trucks sharing the road. So you ride defensively (for a while anyway).
