A source says he committed suicide to escape fascism in September 1939 - unable to find the exact historical circumstances - someone who knows Hungarian and knows the history should be able to add to this entry.

Applications are now open for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the field of the #HistoryOfScience within the project #TRANSMAT – Transnational Materialities.

🆕 On 25 May, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences will dedicate a day to the history of Armando de Lacerda and his Experimental #Phonetics Laboratory, a research that was initiated by Quintino Lopes at the IHC.

In addition, they will launch the book "The Global Periphery: Armando de Lacerda and the Coimbra Experimental Phonetics Laboratory (1936-1979)", the fruit of that work. Congratulations to Quintino! 👏👏👏

These two penguins first appeared on a French postage stamp from Terres Australes et Antarctiques Francaises (#TAAF).
