Science says social media can have scientific value, as online discussions can catch errors or fraud in articles that can be missed in peer review. Well, there goes my confidence in peer reviews. On the other hand, this makes way for the first real open access journal that organises article reviews via social media.

Ireland et al. reviewed the reproducibility of geophysical research and found, despite requirements to make data available, that most of the time data used in studies were not accessible, limiting the opportunity to verify their findings.
