Moar fun at #ScienceNorth yesterday: a #LEGO station where you are encouraged to build a moon base. I built a moon glamping tent. My goddaughter built a moon chicken, which then promptly attacked my tent. I love my extended family.

Another fun thing from #ScienceNorth yesterday: all the hands-on exhibits!

Spent some quality time with the butterflies at #ScienceNorth in the afternoon! I could have sat in that sanctuary space the whole time. #butterflies

I am almost at my May running goal of 75km! I am hoping to reset my goal to something a bit higher this week, if I can stay on mission.
Today I did 8km out and back to #ScienceNorth.
I also did three consecutive days of running this week for the first time in a while! I felt good ... no feeling of physical harm. It was a 5K, a 5K, and today's 8K.

Had an EXCELLENT time volunteering with @jodi and many other staff from @snolabscience.bsky.social at the #SNOLAB tent at #ScienceNorth today. Engaging with the public about the lab and sharing the joy of making things (buttons!) was a great way to spend #CanadaDay.
Shout out to our amazing #Education and #Outreach team for organizing this today!

The festival at lights at #ScienceNorth is always lovely, mostly for the walking in the freezing cold by Lake Ramsey. Oh, and the animated meteor (Sudbury formed from a meteor impact 1.9 billion years ago) was broken, but still cool, frozen in its descent to Sudbury.

Hot chocolates from Tim's and then off to the #ScienceNorth holiday lights display! w/ @sparky and @jodi.

I'm spending the morning at #ScienceNorth in Sudbury, Canada, with the kids.
The "renovation" of the 2nd floor that they were closed 2 weeks to complete is, sadly, overstated. They literally just flipped the fossils & bugs on the 2nd floor to arrange it to work better with the "bug cafe" display. There currently are no butterflies in the butterfly room (but plenty of chrysalis).
They did add a small #aquaponics setup on the 3rd floor that's worth a look, but they didn't really change much otherwise.
If you were planning to come because of the renovation, hold off until the #Dinosaur exhibit on February 18th.

Jeff "never puts away anything, especially oven mitts" Cliff, Bringer of Nightmares 🦝🐙 🇱🇧🧯 🇨🇦 @[email protected] ·6 years ago, I dropped in randomly, and was given an impromptu interview at #MakerKids makerspace in toronto.
I flubbed the 'roleplay' part of the interview ,and they didn't end up hiring me
in retrospect, I think that was a mistake on their part
because #ScienceNorth hired me a few weeks later, and I've been working helping kids learn math/science/computer programming ever since, and have been successful at it
I wonder if they'd hire me now -
Jeff "never puts away anything, especially oven mitts" Cliff, Bringer of Nightmares 🦝🐙 🇱🇧🧯 🇨🇦 @[email protected] ·@Elfie @furgar my credentials are mostly on my profile. I helped to run the hacklab/hackerspace in #tbay '15-16, and was there at the beginning of crashbanglabs in #yqr. I was a science demonstrator for #sciencenorth '16-17.
It's not a title per se, more of a statement of fact. I am pro-science.
