Can parrots remember their own actions? Researchers of our institute in collaboration with Loro Parque in Tenerife have found first evidence for this type of memory. The researchers trained blue-throated macaws to repeat different commands in different intervals. The study showed that parrots can remember their actions, which is an important prerequisite for self-representation and episodic memory of birds.
