Great discussions at #scielo25! TLDR for my talk: preprints promote equity by lowering barriers to dissemination, enable novel forms of dialog that support new approaches to research assessment, and together this constitutes a dynamic form of open access publication. Join us this Friday for a SciELO webinar in celebration of #SciELO25!
"Open Book Futures: Working together to Build Community-owned Infrastructures for #OAbooks"
📅 July 14, 2023, 11:30am (BRT/UTC-3) / 3.30pm (BST)
@copim colleagues Joe Deville from @openbookcollect, @ScholTom from Opening the Future, and @rupertgatti & @flavoursofopen from Thoth will provide a brief overview of the three initiatives' recent work in the context of the Open Book Futures project, and we'd love to hear from publishing initiatives and libraries across all of #Latinamerica about how you would like us to engage with you in meaningful ways, to discuss all the fantastic work that has already been happening in SciELO, and see if SciELO members might benefit from a collaboration to make our shared goal of providing an alternative, community-led open publishing ecosystem for open access books become reality!
