  1. It's National School Psychology Week and it's not a well-known profession, so I'd like to share about it!

#SchoolPsychologists are educational specialists who are trained to identify and address barriers to learning and thriving in school. We help determine students' needs: whether they are academic, social, emotional, mental, behavioral, adaptive, physical, material, or familial.

We are scientist-practitioners who can run interventions, track progress, analyze data, and find out what works.

    We are trained in #psychology, #counseling, #MentalHealth, #Cognition and #Neurodevelopment, lifespan development, educational systems, academic/behavioral #intervention, #consultation, and collaboration.

There is a critical shortage of School Psychologists nationally, so in the name of self-advocacy: Would anyone like to learn more about how you too could become a school psychologist and help us fill these critical vacancies? 😁

Might use this with my students: "Don’t Ask Questions: A Psychotherapeutic Strategy for Treatment of Involuntary Clients" by Brodsky and Lichstenstein. I think it admits of wider usage than with involuntary pts. Puts me in mind of @JonathanShedler.
