Today, millions of kids walked out the door for the first day of school.
I still remember it. Shoes that had not softened yet. A schoolbag heavier than I was. That mix of nervous and excited that only a first day gives you.
Here is what I know now that I did not know then. That feeling does not belong only to children.
Every adult who sits down to learn something new gets it too. The blank page. The shaky start. The quiet voice asking whether you are too late for this.
You are not.
So to every kid today, and to every one of my students who decided this year is the year:
