Scientific journals that feel straight out of 1665, prices that could come from a MrBeast meet-and-greet, privacy as lax as Facebook, and reliability as dubious as a TikTok lifehack: it was long past time for the EU to free science—if anyone would let it.

Real utopianism in action"

I'm all for a move away from a focus on for-profit and non-inclusive models, towards a publishing landscape that fully includes institute- and community-driven #OpenAccess.

I'm probably not going to actually write this up as a #DataSittersClub book, but today is the day I'm sitting down to get #DOI for the DSC books, which has led to the side quest of spreading the good word of ✨ #ORCID ✨ to some of our co-authors. #ScholCom #DigitalHumanities

"Based on our findings, many of ScienceDirect's data privacy practices directly conflict with library privacy standards and guidelines."
(Next to that I also learned about some plugins for FireFox to better protect my data privacy, so this is a must read really!)
