New #MetOffice app, I was wondering whether I was too dumb to find the toggle for km/h wind speeds, but no:
Metric wind speeds have apparently been dropped from app and webpage.According to
https://metricviews.uk/2025/11/27/met-office-website-drops-metric-wind-speeds/
when Met Office adopted m/s for wind speeds, they saw as a reason:
“that it is a step towards the adoption of a system of units which may become common to all nations”'I would not mind Beaufort, but could settle for km/h 😅

With #Dundee offering this year a "short half marathon" (1mi missing, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cg4rpv635e7o ), I was not surprised that the last 2 miles of the #KiltwalkDundee being measured at 1.57km and 0.34km (below showing estimates for the last and last 2 miles).

I’m a postdoc working at Ruhr University Bochum with @maltoesermalte doing meta-science research on #schmeasurement, #replicability, and implicit social cognition. Big into #rstats, #bayes curious, and I see the world through the lens of #behaviorism.
