I heard rumours months ago. Brushed it off b/c I was signed up for their newsletter & checked the website. Thought just their clearance/B stock shop was closing. Nope. The worst has happened.

#BBEsound is gone. Swollowed up by the investment firm or w/e you want to call it, #ServcoPacific. They own #FMIC (#Fender) & auto stuff, which owns #Reverb.com now. Steve Araujo works for #Cort now.

They could've sold or partnered w/ other medium co's. Kept competition. Now fender has everything Leo has done. Why not #ErnieBall? #Dean? #Schecter? …

Spent a little time today with SOAD's "Bring Your Own Bombs". I'm using my #Schecter 8-string. Did some drop tuning & pitch shifted the track up a bit. I've only just started learning it, but I can already tell that it is going to be fun to jam out to.

I had to hammer in the bottom 3 strings. Gave up on the octave bottom & found a string that only took a few pounds before cooperating. lol

Need to find a thai wrap to hold the strings in place at the nut. The top thick string is an octave below what it should be. I'm afraid to go higher until I have something to alleviate tension b/c the nut is already broken there from last time...

At least, it's supposed to be.

Never used the top string on a 4-string w/ drop C. Now I have ext. range below. Played old riffs on it. Awesome to be able go lower!

Just attempted to change the strings on my #Schecter Stiletto Studio 8 and realized that
1) I'm going to need to do some serious filing or replace the tailstop because it can't handle the heavy gauges.
2) the nut already had an edge torn off so it's only a Studio 7. 😖

*facepalm*

It's gonna be a few more months. Oh well. lol

My new Honey is here! Meet Hermy.

My #Schecter Diamond Series Stiletto Studio-8.
Four #bass strings plus four guitar strings, paired.
I'm going to replace them sooner or later with ones a guage or two thicker.

The top guitar/octave string is the type that doesn't have the metal wrapped, only the core. So, I'm going to replace that with a lighter guage for the string below it.

It's got a wicked sound now and I can carefully play only one.
I'm thinking heavier might be a sort of doubler effect.
