For the folk who were interested in #Tildagon #CO2 monitoring #Hexpansion, here' s a very hacky first stab at #Oxygon, a Tildagon app to talk to the #SCD41 sensor for high accuracy CO2 monitoring: https://codeberg.org/martin_hamilton/tildagon-oxygon
This is in the Tildagon app store as https://apps.badge.emfcamp.org/apps/00441330/, but requires a breakout hexpansion as per the README.
NB still need to add calibration mode, but it's a start! Some further ideas in the README - PRs welcome :blobthanks:
I quite like the idea of logging CO2 by GPS (or wifi?) geolocation, perhaps over the network, and displayed on a/the #EMFCamp map. Crowdsourced #Datenzwerg could happen :gnomeHey:
Now to hit the #Kicad and see if I can figure out how to design an all-in-one PCB. Or perhaps a PCB that can easily be mated with the common CO2 sensor boards, the same way the Tildagon screen attaches to the front plate?

#BitBastelei #683 - #SCD40 / #SCD41 #CO₂ Sensor

If you ever wondered what is inside an SCD41 CO₂ sensor, then wonder no more.
I was trying to get it off the PCB, but ended up removing the cap - they must have super glued it on there or something...
Quite amazing.

Just done the #ikeaHack #VINDRIKTNING with an esp8266 and #espHome and now it shows in my #homeAssistant
But I also added a #SCD41 co2, temperature, and humidity sensor.
They're kinda expensive but they are actually sensing co2 not just estimating it based on other readings. At least I hope so for the cost. Will do a blog on it another day, not that this hack needs even more blogs!
Salvaging tiny wires (not just cells) from vapes is worth it for little jobs like this!
Here it is under test

I wasn't satisfied with #Sensirion's #USB powered #CO2 traffic light due to its hardcoded thresholds, so I built my own using a #RaspberryPiZero with solderless #ZeroDongle, #I2C #BreakoutGarden Mini #pHAT, Sensirion #SCD41 CO₂ sensor breakout and the #Pimoroni #LEDShim. All parts available at https://shop.pimoroni.com except for the Pi which is sold out.
The code behind it is based on two library examples by @gadgetoid and available at https://github.com/xtaran/co2-led-meter under the #MITLicense.
