Played two episodes of indie horror visual novel #ScarletHollow ( finally ) yesterday and really liked it. The illustration style animation is beautiful and evocative and the story is interesting and seriously creepy🙀. The array of character choices for the MC are impressive and I might even be able to replay ( high praise indeed from us ). Great work, cheers!

This has become an obsession. Played the whole thing thrice, last time in hardcore mode, and the more I play, the more impressed I am.
The many branches you can take along with the trait system make this the VN with the best replayability I have seen by far, on each playthrough you are surprised on completely unexpected ways, and continue digging into the wonderfully written story. Too bad I don't know how much I'll have to wait for the finale.

I've been not having too much sleep this week... because I purchased #ScarletHollow and I have been completely absorbed. Yesterday finished chapter 5 and the final chapter 6 has not yet been released. But the branching depth looks so deep, I'm starting another playthrough with a different build and different choices, I am intrigued by many things I could have done differently... Awesome game. Well, that was a fun day. Not well enough yet to do much but sit at my desk, so I tried out two indie games as different as games can possibly be: #SpaceWarlordBabyTradingSimulator and #ScarletHollow

Arguably this one doesn't count, since it's basically a demo, but it's also VERY, VERY GOOD!
It's another visual novel style game, but with horror instead of singing. You might wander into the woods with a cute girl you just met (in a town you're visiting for your estranged aunt's funeral), hunting for cryptids.
Except you might also run into more than you bargained for, and have to make some tough decisions.
Also, look at those TRAITS.

Can someone recommend some #HorrorGames that aren't... Like, is there a term for the hide and seek style of Amnesia, Outlast and other similar titles? They're good, don't get me wrong, but I'm not in the headspace for that, and that's on me.
One of my favorite horror games ever is #ScarletHollow, and that's a visual novel without jumpscares nor timed events. It's just you and the consequences of your actions. I also like Dredge.
I did also greatly enjoy Misao and Mad Father, which have chase sequences but they're scripted.
So horror games that cause stress and fear not from the need to react quickly to any given situation, but from the mood and themes. Does any of that make sense?
Maybe I should try Omori and OFF.
