Scalby Lodge’s location near the Yorkshire coastline provides a tranquil setting for exploring the area’s natural beauty, with easy access to Scarborough’s beaches, the Yorkshire Moors, and several heritage sites.

Scalby Lodge is a favourite holidays destination for us and we try to visit at least once a year.

Peasholm Park in Scarborough, is a popular attraction in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

The park is designed with a distinct oriental theme, featuring pagodas, a Chinese bridge, and other traditional oriental structures. This design was part of the trend during the Edwardian era when oriental influences were popular in garden designs.

One of the unique attractions of the park is the naval warfare reenactments. The park hosts mock sea battles using model ships, providing entertainment for visitors. This tradition dates back to the 1930s and continues to be a popular and distinctive feature of the park.

As per usual for my good ladys birthday mini-break we were of course back in the holiday rental at Scalby Lodge - Oour fave place in Burniston.

One morning when my good lady woke up early she was blessed by a visit from one of the local hares. Hares are one of her favourite animals so this started the day off wonderfully for her.
