there's a 4chan thread about s&box on /v/ and it's resulted in a feedback loop of one of the devs (laylad) claiming that 4chan has gone woke on the official discord server, all while 4channers accuse the game of having sold out to "troons" (derogatory term for trans women)

s&box's design feels so *cynical* compared to gmod. gamemodes are locked down so you can't freely mix and match addons & gamemodes. instead of goofy character models you have sausage people with FOMO cosmetics. AI slop is literally fucking everywhere. games rely on grinding to inflate playtime so devs get paid more

and even besides that the developers are openly bigoted & praise ICE in the official discord. s&box is a miserable fucking game made by miserable fucking people

I get an impression that #Steam doesn't even want you to pay for s&box. Their desktop app produces no relevant result when I search the game by name or ID (search is unfiltered). They don't allow pasting URL in the address bar either. Web version logs out constantly and "Open in desktop app" button does nothing even with client open.

By the way, release of s&box is a trash fire according to the reviews.

@thingsiplay I don't want #sbox to fail, I've been looking forward to it and #Source2 for a very long time.

...But not at the larger cost of spawning an unmoderated platform where hate and abuse can fester.

#garrynewman seems to be of the mind that he can do no wrong, when in fact he is taking the company in a new direction. With that comes new responsibility which he and his staff refuse to manage or plan for, despite many users giving the same feedback: "We need moderation"

AND I was told many conflicting information from staff about the #Sbox toolkit being ported to #Linux

There is more evidence that it will remain Windows only forever. Staff seem to have a huge toxic bias against linux users (myself included) for some reason.

Overall it just seems like there's no cohesive management #Facepunch is doing, which is required if they want a healthy platform.

This is not *just* another Garry's Mod, and they're treating it like it is from a community aspect #gamedev

There seems to be no community management, and it's like they said "lets give the community of DarkRP a game engine toolkit"
