There's a physical sensation associated with working a saxophone, when one can feel the air column vibrate, hear/feel that slight raspy quality of sound, and see, in one's mind's eye, the shape of the music one is making. You're "in the pocket" of the horn's sound. It's a calm, lyrical flow state.
I'm trying to apply that flowing, "in the pocket" state, to my moment to moment awareness and actions.

Prestige re-released "Soultrane" along with "John Coltrane with the Red Garland Trio," as a double album. The cover had a reversed image of John on a straight soprano.
I saw that, must've been 14 years old, and just HAD to have one. But my teacher schemed with my parents and I found myself with a tenor instead. It was about 10 years later that I finally got my hands on a Yamaha YSS-62.
These days I play a curvy; less weight on the old right thumb.

Can you tell me what is going on at the start of this music clip? There's a horn section playing and it's very syncopated with a very fast tempo. I'd love to learn what's it actually called what the musicians are playing. (Not the song, the song is Push On Til The Day by Trey Anastasio. It's a fusion/ funk song.) But what they're doing with the horns really moves me.
