#NowListening to #jazz courtesy of #SonnyRollins, #WayOutWest. I love the #Prestige and #Contemporary stuff. For me, West is second only to #SaxophoneColossus: melodic, varied, great musicianship, & proper bite to it. In particular, I love the playing of #RayBrown here.
This 1988 #OJC pressing (I’m assuming it’s #AAA) sounds well rounded with the tone of the saxophone very natural & dynamic. My copy is clean, but there is a dramatic edgewarp on side A.
