  11. @RegalWeasel

Do tell. My #SawStop has stopped sawing, it made it just to the warranty period and now it's a big heavy useless piece of cast iron in my garage and their famous user support can't tell me what the problem is.

My advice: stay the hell away from this patent troll company. I assumed that at that price I'd be getting a top-notch piece of gear as well as the safety feature, and a company that could tell me what to do if something went wrong.

    That is not sawstop.

  15. In all seriousness I think I'm just gonna snip and resolder this. Fuck #Sawstop, this is their QA at work.

  19. For the record, #SawStop did try to help, even though my warranty expired: they sent me the wrong part for free, and well, now I have a spare switch box along with the good one. Okay.

Then I had to pay for the part that they then decided was the problem (and which, once I took it out, definitely appears to be), and replacing THAT part is a nightmare. I've spent days and I'm still figuring out what to go *buy* so I can unscrew the bolts involved.

In short, Sawstop are patent trolls, fuck them.

  23. So, learn from my rookie mistake: Don't ever buy a #Sawstop.

I just realized I'm on the wrong machine to do a post with the picture of my Contractor Saw in a half-flipped position as I attempt to swap out a cable which arrived with the "strain relief" clamped like a vise.

I believe in the "buy once, cry once" principle of tool acquisitions, and so, I believed that along with the vaunted safety feature, I was also getting a top-quality saw.

I need to get this character limit figured out...

  27. All gone now, #sawstop, dust collector, all the excess (pfft wifes word, not mine) wood that I had.

Nice old guy who took all the wood (over $1000 worth, for free) came back and gave me a wooden mallet he had made. 100% worth it. I have wanted a decent one of these for ages.

Now I just need to complete packing up the rest of the tools in #TheShed and clean it out and bit, and we done.
